The final routes to St Jean Pied de Port resolve down to four. From the South, Spain, by road from Roncevalles (Ronceveau). From the North and East by road along the D933 from Junction 7 of the A64 (The East - West French toll road which traverses the foothils of the Pyrenees from Bayonne to Perpignan via Toulouse) . From the North and West by road along the D932/918 from Bayonne, Anglet, Biarritz (BAB) and by rail from Bayonne St Esprit. The rest of this page examines the various routes from Northern Europe and from Spain that will get you to one of those points. I'm also working on the basis that many of you won't have a car available, although if more than one person is travelling a one way hire maybe your cheapest option.

Esta ciudad es la
antigua capital de la Baja Navarra cuando el Reino de Navarra abarcaba los
Pirineos. St Jean Pied de Port está situada estratégicamente al pie del paso de
Roncesvalles que conduce a la región española de Navarra, cuya capital es
Pamplona. Puede decirse que en el antiguo peregrinaje del camino de Santiago de
Compostela, la sección española del camino empieza aquí.

64. PIRINEOS ATLANTICOS. EL PAIS VASCO Y
EL BEARN
Se trata de la
última parada en la costa francesa antes de pasar a España. El Departamento 64
se sitúa al final de la cordillera pirenaica en su vertiente atlántica,
cordillera que separa Francia y España. El departamento se encuentra dividido
en dos regiones. Al oeste la región vasco-francesa y al este la región del
Bearn.
